About / Independence before interpretation

Our place outside the booth

We explain how evidence enters an officiating process. We do not make match decisions, certify equipment or speak for governing bodies.

Accountability is the starting point

Ottercrimsonvally.sbs is written for officials, organisers and informed spectators who want a clear account of intelligent sports referee assistance. Our organising question is simple: what can this evidence establish, and who is authorised to act on it?

That question keeps computer vision, sensors and human interpretation in the same account without confusing their roles. We favour a process explanation over a promise that a new technology will remove controversy.

How we handle technical claims

We distinguish recorded observations, modelled estimates and legal judgements. Where the distinction matters, we explain it directly rather than treating every screen output as a fact.

Governing-body laws and competition documents are the starting point for procedural claims. Technical standards explain relevant testing or timing concepts. Supplier material may describe a product, but does not by itself establish independent performance.

What this website cannot do

We do not have access to private review feeds, restricted incident logs or every competition’s current operating instructions. An analysis based on public information cannot reproduce a live official’s full evidence environment.

Our articles are educational, not professional officiating instructions, legal advice or an appeals service. For a live competition, use its current authorised documents and official communication channels.

Corrections should follow the evidence

If a passage confuses a measured quantity with a decision, relies on an outdated rule or omits an important limit, tell us the page and the reason. A primary source and a precise explanation are more useful than an assertion that a disputed call was obviously right or wrong.

Raise an editorial point

Follow the evidence, not the spectacle

Start with capture, continue through the review and finish by asking how the whole pathway was tested.
